In The Annual BICSI India District Conference 2013 was organised with much fanfare and huge participation from the Information Technology System industry.
Infrastructure is the key for any accomplished system, be it buildings or IT/Network systems. This brings in the importance of this industry which manages the infrastructure for data transfer. Jangoo Dalal, Independent Management Consultant was delivering the keynote address at the conference.
Cloud Computing, Social Media, Machine Generated Data, etc. are going to drive the Big Data in todays technology world. This denotes variety of data with size, type and speed of creation. How these data going to change the infrastructure is the key question for the ITS industry today.
Likewise, ubiquitous computing and merging of IPs brings in Internet of Things which is being perceived as a coming up trend in the industry, Mr. Jangoo opined. However, there is nothing like SDN which is going to revolutionize the networking infrastructure which very much needed a close watch and study by the industry people. India is slowly taking it but definitely SDN is going to be there in the near future. He also suggested the industry to take wireless together with wired as the co-existence of both will be the preferred option.
Earlier, Ketan Kothari, District Chair, India District, BICSI stressed on the need of excellence to be given priority by the ITS Industry and opined not to compromise on standards. This will help reclaim the respect that this industry deserves. Our industry is today going through tough times and only those who strive for excellence will survive in the long run. And it is in this pursuit, we at BICSI India are committed to provide the right support to our industry by conducting such technical conferences and imparting more training by enhancing our training portfolio.
Dilip Kumar, Immediate Past Chairman of BICSI India informed the audience that this is the 10th year of BICSI in India. He fondly recollected the humble but ardent beginning of BICSI along with 10-12 industry colleagues and its transformation to this level along with the technology shift from 100 Mbps & 1Gbps Ethernet to the plethora of things we see today. He thanked all the ITS Industry people in bringing up BICSI to this level.
